Beyond the houses, glamping tents and cabins, guests are welcome to enjoy the shared farmstay amenities, including our peaceful pond with a beautiful waterfall, Koi fish, and comfortable areas for lounging and relaxing. The farm is a shared space, as it is also our backyard and home to our six children and 28 grandchildren, who play outdoors Monday- Thursday from 2–6 p.m. The property is home to friendly horses, goats, rams, pigs, a barn cat, and free-range peacocks and chickens, offering a truly special countryside experience.

Nature lovers will appreciate the many nearby trails and waterfalls, with Hammond Hill Forest located just behind the farm. You will also find local wineries close by, and downtown Ithaca is only a 20-minute drive away. Whether you are relaxing around the pond or exploring the Finger Lakes region, this home offers a peaceful and memorable retreat. We hope you enjoy all that our place and Brooktondale have to offer.

After a short walk, you will find our Mercantile store, our Traveler’s Trunk boutique, and our beautiful natural pond. The pond is a peaceful place to lounge around, enjoy the waterfall, and feed our friendly Koi fish. The Koi are always eagerly awaiting their treats! Koi treats can be purchased from our small Mercantile store, along with horse treats, rabbit treats, and bird treats. The Mercantile also has snacks, honey and beverages, along with camp cooking supplies you may have forgotten. Our fun little Traveler’s Trunk boutique has some interesting finds from our travels as well as local homemade items.

There are swinging tree hammocks, a children’s playground, bistro tables throughout the property, and plenty of farmland to explore. We border the lush and lovely Hammond Hill State Forest, giving you access to miles of state trails perfect for cross-country skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and walks. The barns and pastures are restricted from guest entrance.

Scottland Yard is a small community consisting of several clustered homesteads. Each Sunday is “Sunday Funday” BBQ at Scottland Yard from 2–7 p.m. Our guests often join us for this joyful BBQ time. If you happen to arrive or are enjoying the property during these hours, you’re welcome to join us if you wish!

There are over 200 wineries in the Finger Lakes Region, with many within an hour’s drive. The closest to us is Six Mile Creek Vineyard, about 5 miles away. You can also visit beautiful waterfalls and state parks such as Buttermilk Falls, Taughannock Falls, Robert H. Treman State Park, and Ithaca Falls.

We really like the idea of the honor system, and guests can settle up their purchases via different forms of payment, including Venmo, Zelle, cash, or checks, at the time of purchase.

For the safety and privacy of everyone on the farm, swimming in the pond is reserved for the Scott family and is not permitted for guests. Guests are welcome to enjoy the pond area from the shore, lounge around it, and feed the Koi fish, but please do not enter the water. Thank you for helping us respect this private family space and keep the farm safe and enjoyable for everyone.

We hope you choose to “just breathe” with us here at Scottland Yard Farm and look forward to sharing our magical space with you!
