The Caretaker’s Quarters is a charming and upscale studio retreat designed for comfort, style, and relaxation. This cozy space features a handmade wooden framed full sized bed, a full kitchen, shower, toilet, closet, air conditioning, and heating to keep you comfortable year round. Thoughtful decor, warm chandelier lighting, and a private deck porch with seating and a BBQ create an inviting atmosphere that is perfect for a peaceful and stylish getaway. Pets are welcome, and guests planning to bring more than one pet are asked to notify us in advance so we can help ensure a safe and enjoyable stay for everyone.

Just a short walk from the studio, guests are welcome to enjoy Scottland Yard’s shared farm amenities. You will find our Mercantile store, the Traveler’s Trunk boutique, and a beautiful natural swimming pool surrounded by tranquility. The pool features a gentle waterfall and our beloved pet koi, who eagerly await koi treats from guests. These treats, along with horse, rabbit, and bird treats, can be purchased at the Mercantile, which also offers snacks, local beverages, honey, and camp cooking supplies you may have forgotten. The Traveler’s Trunk boutique showcases unique finds from our travels as well as locally made items.

The farm offers a relaxed and joyful setting with a natural pool, swinging tree hammocks, a children’s playground, bistro tables scattered throughout the property, a coin operated laundromat with two washers and two dryers, and plenty of farmland to explore. Scottland Yard borders the lush Hammond Hill State Forest, giving guests direct access to miles of trails ideal for walking, mountain biking, and cross country skiing. For safety reasons, barns and pastures are restricted from guest access.

Scottland Yard is a small community of clustered homesteads. Each Sunday, we host Sunday Funday BBQ from 2–7 p.m., and from Monday through Thursday between 2–6 p.m., we enjoy family swim time on the farm. Guests are welcome to join during these hours if they wish.

The Finger Lakes region is rich with adventure and beauty, offering over 200 wineries within an hour’s drive. The closest winery, Six Mile Creek Vineyard, is just five miles away. Guests can also explore nearby waterfalls and state parks including Buttermilk Falls, Taughannock Falls, Robert H. Treman State Park, and Ithaca Falls. We are within a half day drive of NYC, NJ, PA, Rochester, and Buffalo.

We operate on an honor system at the Mercantile and boutique, allowing guests to settle purchases via Venmo, cash, or check at the time of purchase. We hope you choose to slow down, just breathe, and enjoy the magic of Scottland Yard Farm. We look forward to sharing this special place with you.

Rules

• Every child age five and under, or any non swimmer, must provide their own life jacket when in or around the pond. Swim at your own risk. No lifeguard on duty.
• Dishes must be washed, dried, and put away after each use.
• No smoking inside the dwelling. Ashtrays are provided outdoors.
• No dog swimming is allowed in the lined ponds on the property.
• If you are bringing an infant under two years old, you must provide all bedding and sleeping accommodations, or the infant may sleep with you.
• Minimum two night stay is required when booking on a Friday.
• Quiet time begins at 10:00 p.m. Please be respectful of other guests.
• No early check ins or check outs.
• Please do not allow outside animals roaming the farm inside any dwellings.

Pet Policy

• Pet fee is $35 per night per pet.
• Pets must be kept on leash at all times.
• Pets must be well behaved, child friendly, and dog friendly.
• Pets may not bark excessively and must be crated if left alone.
• Pet waste must be picked up immediately unless pets use the designated nearby field.
• Pets must be up to date on vaccinations and free of fleas.

Earplugs are provided in the studio for guests who prefer not to rise with the birds.

July 4th Weekend Notice

Please take this into consideration before booking. Fireworks from a nearby neighbor’s homestead can be heard and are loud for approximately 15 minutes. Guests are welcome to attend the neighborhood display, though it is not held on our property. Fireworks may be frightening for dogs, children, or sensitive travelers.
